Google Authorizations in Big Board 2021

If you have the Big Board by now, and you’ve tried clicking any of the script buttons, you’ve probably seen this screen below. Here’s a quick, simple guide for the initial ‘Authorization’ you need to do with Google.

Click the ‘Continue’ button, then select the account you want to sign-in with on the following screen. This should be the same account that you’re using to access the Big Board.

…and then you’ll be presented with the scary screen. This shows up because I’m not yet fancy enough to have been officially ‘Verified’ by Google (work in progress, though!). No problem, just hit the ‘Advanced’ button at the bottom left.

Now, click on the ‘Go to Big Board (unsafe)’ link.

It will list the things the Big Board needs to access – basically, it needs to be able to link up to other spreadsheets, and it needs to be able to get data from elsewhere on the web. Click the ‘Allow’ button, and you’re done!

    Unfortunately, this does not work. Google will not allow access. I changed the setting to allow access for "less secure apps" — no luck. Very disappointed!

      Hi Nick, sorry to hear you’re having trouble. This would be a first though, so perhaps you can try the process again and let me know what happens? Which step in the post above doesn’t work? Do you still get the popup that says "This app isn’t verified"? Feel free to follow-up by email as that may be easier.
