The Big Board Projections Mix for 2022

Alternate headline: You need to be using The Bat X and Razzball.

A larger piece writing up these results is yet to come, but in the interest of helping you all out for any coming weekend drafts, here is what I would recommend setting your aggregators to for 2022 drafts…

The Big Board Mix 2022:

  • Hitter Playing Time: 75% Steamer, 25% ATC

  • Hitter Rate Stats: 60% The Bat X, 30% ATC, 10% Steamer

  • Pitcher Playing Time: 55% Razzball, 25% Steamer, 20% ATC

  • Pitcher Rate Stats: 50% Razzball, 30% ATC, 10% Steamer, 10% The Bat

  1. Hey am getting an error when I click "Update All Projections" on the custom projections tool: "TypeError: Cannot read property ‘length’ of undefined." Is there a way I can reset everything to the initial settings and start over–haven’t fooled around too much here but maybe I messed something up?

This is unfortunately a known issue that started on Friday and I haven’t found a fix for yet. Something on Google’s side causes the script to fail. However it doesn’t happen every time, and if you run the update multiple times it eventually works. In fact, usually the stats do update even when it gives the error message. Sorry for the inconvenience- I’ll post to my site if there is a resolution.

Got it, thanks. One other thing I noticed (again not sure if I messed it up or it was like that already)–Seiya Suzuki and Julio Rodriguez both show up twice on the Big Board.

Ah – yes you should update that, and no you didn’t mess up. Early in the preseason those guys were manually added in because the default projections exports didn’t include them. Now they do, so there are two entries. If you go to the Custom Projections sheet, on the Hitter Projections tab, scroll all the way to the bottom. You should see Seiya and Julio there, and you can just delete their names.

  2. Is through this site the only way to contact? I emailed back on original link. I get a lot of #REF and #DIV errors sporadically throughout. Also, reference to cells that are one row off from the space that’s expected. Hoping to get a reset/fresh copy somewhere.

  3. Hey! Something is wrong with the projections that are being uploaded. For instance, Kris Bryant is given 604 PA by the BAT X and 630 by FGDC. But these are not the numbers that are uploaded into the sheet. In fact, the PA do not match for any player I’ve put into Fangraphs. My draft is today and this is a tough thing to discover 🙁
